Summary: This essay is an effort to eliminate the extremes of a moderistic as well as a postmodernistic conception of knowledge. In the first case we encounter the absolutisation of chaos. A case is made out in this essay for the importnce of honouring both order and chaos, and in order to do so it is proposed that knowledge should be articulated in terms of complexity. Both the world and us, and this relationship are characterised by complexity.
